Art - 3D 2020-21
Since the media fair part 1 we got make a weave, and we also got the chance to pick one of the artworks to decorate. I did do weaving before when I was little with my sisters. All it took was cardboard and yarn to complete the project. I choose to decorate my plaster gauze bowel using paint. On the inside of the bowl I used tape to make geometric shapes and then paint them with light blue, dark, blu and marble. For the outside I painted the bottom half marble and then splattered it with light and dark blue, and I painted a big charcoal line around the rim of it. I think overall I like working with the plaster gauze and the plushie I created. I showed the following studio habits: Envisioning and Reflecting. I showed envisioning because I took the time to envision how to do marble and how to make it unique to the other bowels. I showed reflecting because I told what I did to create my artworks and by telling you what when good and bad. I would say I probably won't use the paper to make a 3D artwork again because I didn't like the way it turned out.

I would say out of the many things we created in 3D art my favorite two were the plaster gauze and the plushie. I think part of the reason is that they turned out the best. I used almost all the studio habits. I learned how to develop craft by using new tools and materials that I never used before. I focused on my work and turned any problem I had and figured out a way to fix it, which is how I showed engage and persist. I envisioned my pizza plushie and the steps I needed to complete it. I tried to express happiness through all my artworks. I reflected on all the artworks that I was able to accomplish during meadia fair part 1. I learned to stretch and explore by learning from my mistakes and learning about new materials and tools. Cardboard, Task board, and Paper: I never got the chance to make anything out of the task board for the first project, but I did get to later on. I used the cardboard and paper tape to make a house. I never got the chance to finish my cardboard house. I'm not sure I really like what I chose to make with the cardboard because it doesn't seem original. I used the paper to make a 3D paper statue, but it fell apart to easily so I had to make a new statue. If I had to choose I would say I liked using the cardboard the most. Found Object, Altered Book, and Styrogami: I never got to do the found object or styrogami. I wish I would have had a little more time to make the styrogami artwork because it looked fun to make and really interesting. I didn't mind not getting around to the found object because I did it before. For the altered book I used an exacto knife to cut into an old math book. I made a mountain scenery. I like making the book but next time I would make better cuts in the paper so it didn't tear, and I would also color or paint it to make it stand out better. I think the styrofoam looked the most fun to use. Wire, Kinetic Art, and Mobiles: I never go the chance to make kinetic art, but I did used the wire to make a fish and a butterfly. I liked working with the wire, but it was kinda hard to find something to make because the colors were so picked over. I used both the task board and cardboard to make a mobile, but I didn't get the chance to quite finish it yet. I think it looks good for what I have done on it. I cut the task board and cardboard into large and small triangles, and hung them up in a balanced fashion. one thing I didn't like about putting together the moboile the cardboard and the task board were to light for the fishing string. Out of the three I would say the wire was the most fun. Papier-Mache and Plaster Gauze: I thought it was fun working with both the papier-mache and plaster gauze. If I had to choose which I like better I would say it would have to be the plaster gauze because it laid more nicely. For the plaster gauze we had the option to make a mask or a bowl. I wanted to choose the bowl but they didn't have any left so I formed it on a cool whip container. For the papier-mache I made another bowl, but it wasn't my favorite thing to work with because it didn't lay as nicely. Floral Foam, Plaster, and Soap: I didn't have the chance to use the floral foam, but I thought it looked fun to use and a little tricky to use. I made a flower with the plaster but it was kinda hard to shape because the plaser didn't 100% dry overnight before using it. I made another fish but this time I used soap. The soap was fun to use but it was a little hard to scrape off the excess soap because the soap kida sticks together. I thought the floral foam looked the most fun to use because it looked complicated and intrestiong. Plushie and Sock Monster: I never got the chance to make the sock monster because I spent a lot of my time on the plushie. I made a pizza plushie. I really enjoyed making the plushie. I think the sock monster looked like fun to make, but I think if I made both I would've thought the plushie was more fun to make. |
